Katwijk in Transition

Connecting Katwijk
This project, Low Lands Atlas, explores the future of the Katwijk region by addressing challenges and opportunities through four guiding themes: densification, transformation, expansion, and connection. In response to potential future challenges, the project considers various scenarios and examines the interplay of infrastructure, ecology, economics, and heritage.
A key proposal is the development of a connecting ring or circle—a multi-layered infrastructural element designed to link new development areas while serving as a focal point within the existing Randstad. The project also emphasizes water management and climate adaptation strategies. Through detailed analysis and design proposals, Low Lands Atlas envisions a resilient and well-connected future for Katwijk.
