This project creates a seamless flow between indoors and outdoors, making the most of the views while maintaining a sense of comfort and intimacy. The living, dining, and kitchen areas are connected through subtle level changes and movable panels, allowing the space to adapt as needed. This design received an Honourable Mention in the Arcbazar “New Mountain Family Home” competition.

Mountain Family Home Layouts

Rather than removing the old structure entirely, key elements were integrated into the new design to create continuity. An open-plan core connects the spaces, while elevated bedrooms offer both privacy and optimal views, using the natural slope to their advantage.

Material choices focus on comfort and efficiency, with vertical louvers providing shade and privacy, and the roof designed to regulate light and temperature. The result is a functional, adaptable home that feels effortless and connected to its surroundings.
